Coastal Georgia changes character from one place to the next. A city day in Savannah feels different from an island day on St. Simons or Jekyll. Darien brings the scale back down. The roads between them pass through a landscape shaped by tidal water, live oaks, marsh, and sky.

Sapelo House offers a way to know several sides of that coast without sleeping in the middle of its busiest one.

Across from the Sapelo River, the house feels removed in the right way. Interesting places remain within reach. So does fishing near the river. But every outing ends with the road leading back to Spanish moss, porch chairs, and a quieter evening.
